The Calvert Fellowship : A clinical and research training position at the Shoulder Unit
The Shoulder Unit at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth has established the position of the Calvert Fellow in the memory of the late Paul Calvert, a prominent shoulder surgeon, who established the Shoulder Unit in 1991.
Paul Calvert was an outstanding clinical teacher both in the lecture theatre and in the operating theatre. His contribution to the training of young orthopaedic surgeons was recognised by his being appointed Trainer of the Year at the annual British Orthopaedic Trainee’s Association in 2002.
The Calvert Fellowship aims to continue the training of young orthopaedic surgeons from throughout the world in the treatment and surgery of shoulder and elbow conditions. The Calvert Fellowship is a clinical and research fellowship based at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth with an honorary contract at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.
